Analytical Services satisfies the requirements of federal, state and local agencies for characterization of environmental contamination, facility waste, environmental monitoring, industrial hygiene, radiological health, medical monitoring, and nuclear material control accountability. Analytical Services provides support to sitewide projects that require analyses through Site closure by using of a combination on- and off-site laboratories.  

Analytical Services manages and tracks all samples collected on-site and coordinates analytical support requirements of sitewide programs to ensure project needs are met while maintaining quality standards for analysis and reporting. Analytical Services further provides oversight and control of on- and off-site laboratories by defining laboratory performance requirements and by monitoring and reporting progress towards meeting Closure Mission goals. Analytical Services managed over 50,000 samples in CY2001.

A key part of laboratory oversight activities includes the continuous monitoring of data quality through a comprehensive data assessment program.
